Scotiabank Sponsors Economics for Success, Encouraging BC Students to Evaluate their Educational Goals
June 18, 2014
Vancouver, British Columbia – Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) is pleased to announce that Scotiabank has once again donated $10,000 in support of business education programs for youth across BC. This generous contribution will specifically go towards “Economics for Success”, a JA program that encourages youth to think critically about career goals and the role educational choices have on their financial future.
Scotiabank is committed to supporting the communities in which they live and work. This generous contribution is in addition to the many hours that enthusiastic Scotiabank employees have volunteered with JABC. Each year, Scotiabank volunteers facilitate business education classes from Grades 5-12. This, along with their monetary contribution, will allow JABC to continue the spread of financial literacy and business education in BC’s youth. Scotiabank is also the Co-Presenting Sponsor for JA’s Business Laureates of BC Gala Dinner held annually in May.
G.R. Laxon, Director of Private Banking at Scotia Private Client Group says, “Scotiabank recognizes the important and lasting impact JA has on our youth in so many communities across the province of British Columbia and we are pleased to support this outstanding organization.”
Junior Achievement would like to thank Scotiabank for their many years of support. Their contribution again this year will help guarantee that youth in BC continue to have access to Junior Achievement programs.
