Geordie Rose, Founder & CEO of Sanctuary AI, gave a fascinating keynote address on machine learning and artificial intelligence and their impact on business and youth. Geordie shared his belief that human-like, sentient robots will be able to replace all work in the near future. Despite this increase in the automation of labour and the potential for job losses, he believes that people’s quality of life will ‘go through the roof’ as the ‘Puritan view that suffering and struggle that gives life meaning” is going to disappear.

His presentation was followed by a panel discussion featuring Drew Collier, President & CEO of LGM Financial Services; Kirsten Sutton, Vice President & Managing Director of SAP Labs Canada; and Jeff Wright, Senior Vice President of Client Solutions at Canadian Western Bank. The panel was facilitated by Maya Medeiros, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright and renowned expert on AI and business. The panelists further explored how these transformative technologies will impact specific industries including insurance, banking, and even how we purchase cars.

The 2020 JA Leadership Breakfast Series was made possible by our presenting sponsor, Canadian Western Bank.
