July 17, 2019- Thanks to Canada Life’s renewed support of JABC, approximately 3,500 students across B.C. will benefit from JA’s popular Economics for Success program over the next three years. JA’s Economics for Success program prepares students to enter the world of work by helping them map career clusters, consider post-secondary options, create a personal budget and develop strategies to achieve goals. The program is offered across B.C., in 55 of 60 school districts, free of charge to students and teachers due to the generous support of donors like Canada Life.

Providing both funding and volunteers, Canada Life (previously operating as Great West Life) has supported JABC since 2002. This collaboration is based on the common goal of delivering youth programs that help build stronger communities, offer positive life experiences, enhance self-esteem and financial literacy and promote staying in school.

“At Canada Life, we support educational initiatives that focus on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. We recognize the need for programs that provide students with the tools to explore post-secondary education paths and succeed in their future careers,” said Debbie Down, Director of Community Relations for Canada Life. “We’re proud to continue our support of JABC and Economics for Success. Working together with community organizations, we make a positive impact that helps improve the well-being of all Canadians.”

“We are very grateful for Canada Life’s continued support of our Economics for Success program,” said Sheila Biggers, President and CEO of JABC. “With their renewed commitment, even more B.C. youth will have these programming opportunities to help build skills for lifelong success.”
