What is Discover your Pitch?

Discovery Foundation’s Discover your Pitch, presented by JABC, is an exclusive investor pitch competition for B.C. high school students to take their business and presentation skills and knowledge to the next level.

What does Discover your Pitch involve?

Upon successful completion of JA Be Entrepreneurial or JA Company Program, top teams will be invited to refine their business ideas through their participation in our fundamentals of fundraising workshop and practice sessions. Teams from across B.C. will then pitch their business ideas to a panel of top B.C. business leaders for a chance to win cash prizes. Over $6,500 is available to be won!

Who can participate?

Any B.C. students who have taken JA Be Entrepreneurial or JA Company Program and who have participated in the program competition. Top teams will then be invited to register for Discover your Pitch. Each team is allowed a maximum of three presenters.

Student team registration for Discover your Pitch 2021 is now closed.

Discover your Pitch is accessible to JA students anywhere in B.C. Virtual participation will be provided for all program components, including the finale.

Over $6,500 in prizes were won!

Preliminary Competition (multiple pools): 1st Place – $300 | 2nd Place – $200 | 3rd Place – $100

Final Competition: 1st Place – $2,500 | 2nd Place – $1,000 | 3rd Place – $500

PLUS an additional $1,000 was up for grabs for the top elevator pitch, determined by viewers in a fan favourite vote!

  • Workshop 2 | April 29, 2021 – 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM (PST)
  • Pitch Practice 1 | May 3 – 7, 2021 – multiple dates/times will be posted for sign up
  • Preliminary Competition | May 10 – 14, 2021 – multiple dates/times will be posted for sign up
  • Pitch Practice 2 | May 20, 2021 – 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (PST)
  • Final Competition | May 26, 2021 – 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM (PST)

Note: Workshops and Pitch Practice 1 are mandatory for all teams. All teams that advance to the finals must attend Pitch Practice 2.
