Meet alumna Wendy Burge, Business Mentor and Marketing Coach at Radiant Edge Consulting.

Wendy lived in the United States as a young girl and took part in Junior Achievement programming offered at her high school. Now in British Columbia, she is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 25 years of business experience.

As a volunteer for the JA Business of Our Own program in the Langley school district, Wendy shared:

Now that I am older and a business mentor to women entrepreneurs I wanted to step forward and speak up to emerging interest in bringing girls forward into areas of careers they often held themselves back in…with business being one of them.

JA allows me to talk to those girls and boys who would never have thought they could be good at business. Teaching the entrepreneurship aspects of the Business of Our Own program shows them that they can create their own way, play out ideas by testing them in a marketable process, and often find monetary results over a 6 to 8 weeks.

The levels of confidence and excitement I see in the students by the end of the program keeps me coming back year after year as a volunteer.

Thank you Wendy for giving back to JA!
