April 19, 2023- This 2023 National Volunteer Week, we were thrilled to hold a Coffee with the CEO event at our downtown Vancouver offices. This volunteer appreciation experience brought together over 20 volunteers, plus staff and students.

President and CEO, Sheila Biggers, and JABC Team members personally thanked all the volunteers for their hard work and dedication to the organization. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to express their gratitude and appreciation to JABC volunteers for their contributions. In addition to other refreshments, guests enjoyed homemade bannock, a delicious pan fried Indigenous bread.

Students from the JA Company Program also attended and talked with guests about their experiences with the after-school entrepreneurship program. Their  student company is called Bumble Wraps and they produce and sell eye-catching handcrafted beeswax food wraps. In fact, each event attendee received a sample in their goodie bag!

Congratulations to our door prize winners: Alfred Chien, Coco He and Winnie Hsu. They will each receive two passes to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.
