Message from our President and CEO

Message from our President and CEO

September 14, 2022 The school year has begun, and I’m so pleased to share our recent student impact updates and introduce our refreshed brand!

In the 2021-22 school year, close to 50,000 B.C. youth in urban, rural and Indigenous communities benefited from a JA program. B.C. students particularly enjoyed one of JABC’s new virtual programs, World of Choices. Over 9,500 students in communities all over the province learned about careers from role models in a variety of industries such as healthcare, construction, tourism, finance and entrepreneurship.

I am also very pleased that close to 1,000 Indigenous students who learn in their own Nation took a JA program in financial literacy, work readiness or entrepreneurship.

This is all thanks to our dedicated community of volunteers and donors who supported the delivery of programs. Of note is that JABC was able to bring our community together at the Business Laureates of B.C. Hall of Fame Gala, raising a record $1,085,000 in revenues.

Ensuring youth develop the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities is a collaborative effort that includes our donors, volunteers, and educators. I continue to be inspired by and grateful to the entire JABC community

I hope you enjoy our refreshed JA brand. JA British Columbia and other JA Charters have embraced the new visuals and messaging that reflects who we are and where we’re going as an organization.

Thank you for your support!

Sheila
