September 14, 2020. Last school year, B.C. educators were asked to complete a survey evaluating the programs they hosted. Here are some highlights of this feedback.

Additional Highlights
  • 92% rated the volunteer instruction and volunteer connection with students as 4/5 or 5/5
  • 100%  rated the age appropriateness of several key JA program concepts and activities as 4/5 or 5/5
  • 100%  rated the quality of materials of several JA programs as either a 4/5 or 5/5

This past winter, JABC provided training to JABC Program team members to support their work in better preparing JABC volunteers in the classroom. JABC invested increased resources to help JABC volunteers develop their delivery skills to students based on feedback from our 2018-19 educator survey. These previous results showed that 30% of educators felt the quality of program delivery by our JA volunteers could be improved, and 30% indicated JABC volunteers could better engage student participants.

We are very pleased that the most recent feedback (92% rated the volunteer instruction and volunteer connection with students as 4/5 or 5/5) shows we are improving in this area. In addition, JABC is proud to launch enhanced volunteer training in a virtual platform this fall.

Thank you educators for continuing to invite us, and our volunteers, into your classroom. You are essential in helping youth find their path to success.
