  • Introduces students to personal money management skills including methods of payment, cost of credit, purchasing influences, online security, goal setting, budgeting, and the basics of investing.

  • Students explore the ways in which people save and invest for their future. The program includes interactive lessons and culminates in an online stock market simulation.

  • Students participate in an online business simulation and gain confidence to become entrepreneurs by creating a business strategy, making
    management decisions and learning to succeed in a competitive industry.

  • In this online program, students learn why businesses succeed and fail and what it takes to become an entrepreneur in the trades industry.

JABC TechWorks

  • Grades 9-10
  • Prerequisite: Economics for Success
  • In this one day event, students are introduced to the vast career opportunities in B.C.’s tech sector. Speakers, demos and hands-on breakout sessions showcase the latest in technology and provide guidance on education pathways.

BC Business Challenge

  • Grades 10-12
  • Prerequisite: Titan
  • Students work in teams in an online competition to manage a company and compete in a virtual marketplace. This challenge is based on the same concepts and strategies from Titan. Prizes and certificates are awarded to the top performers.
  • Province-wide: January 2020 and May 2020

Stock Market Challenge

  • Grades 10-12
  • Prerequisite: Investment Strategies Program
  • An online stock market simulation, linked to live data from North American stock markets, that engages students from across Canada to apply investing principles as they manage their own portfolio.
  • Province-wide: October-December 2019 and April-June 2020
